Studio Policy
PAYMENT
Tuition for private lessons is payable monthly due the first lesson of the month. The payment holds your weekly time slot in my schedule throughout the year and is required regardless of attendance. Monthly tuition fluctuates based on the number of lesson days each month so please check your calendars. Payment may be made by check, cash, Zelle or Venmo (send payment to 14tsiegel@gmail.com).
STUDENT CANCELLATION
Your lesson time is reserved exclusively for you. You are allowed 2 makeup lessons during the school year. Cancellations made within 24 hours will not be refunded or made up for any reason. This policy is out of consideration to my schedule and the studio, ensuring all students have equal opportunity for make up lessons. Scheduled make up lessons will not be rescheduled.
TEACHER CANCELLATION
Lessons that I cancel will be rescheduled or refunded.
SUMMER Lessons (From June 1-Fall)
Year-round study is critical for maintaining and continuing progress. In order to reserve a lesson slot in the fall, you are required to take a minimum of four lessons over the summer or pay a space-holding fee equal to four lessons. Additional lessons beyond the minimum four are payable per lesson. Summer lessons do not need to be on the same day and time each week.
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
A parent or guardian is expected to attend every lesson and supervise daily practice for students 10 years old and under.
PRACTICE
In order to get the most out of lessons, you must commit to daily listening and practice of at least 5 days per week minimum. Practice your assignments, listen to the music, and reach out to me with any questions.
ARRIVAL
Please arrive a few minutes before your lesson time. Lessons will not be extended for students who arrive late.
Required MATERIALS
For every lesson, you are expected to bring your violin, shoulder rest, and all assigned music. Music and other materials may be purchased locally at Main Violin or W Violin . Online resources include IMSLP and Shar Music. If you are considering purchasing an instrument, please consult me first!
